Kinesiology

Kinesiology is offered as a major at jmu. the department of kinesiology is dedicated to the development of future leaders in professions that maximize the potential of individuals and society through exercise, sport and leisure activities. this is achieved through two concentrations: physical and health education teacher education, and exercise science. a minor in coaching, leading to a national coaching certificate also offered through the department of kinesiology.

This course is available with a placement year option where you will study for 1 additional year.the placement year provides you with a fantastic opportunity to broaden your horizons and develop valuable skills and contacts through working with a self-sourced organisation relevant to your degree subject.
