Stem cell and regenerative medicine is at the forefront of future therapies to repair disease and damaged organs. as the academic research base broadens and industry begins to adopt new technologies, the demand for specialists has increased substantially. as such, this unique research-led course offers high-level employment opportunities.

ELP programs are offered by universities or pathway institutions to assist students in achieving the language proficiency required for academic studies. You can get admitted to your course with a lower language requirement if you do an ELP program.

Your career prospects as an orthoptist are excellent. once you've completed your degree, you'll be eligible to apply for registration with the health professions council (hpc) to practise as an orthoptist. most graduates gain a position in the nhs soon after graduation. there are good opportunities for progression such as specialising in various areas of orthoptic care.our graduates work in orthoptic clinics in hospitals, health centres and schools for children with special needs. others go on to postgraduate research in orthoptics and related fields. we offer a distance learning masters in vision and strabismus specifically aimed at orthoptists and offer excellent phd opportunities.

Work while you study

You can also work on a UK student visa, from 10 to 20 hours per week during the academic year, 40 hours per week or full-time during vacations.
