As a high-school teacher, you can have a tremendous influence over a person during some of their most formative years. in fact, what you teach someone can last a lifetime. at uab, we can teach you the skills needed to become a high school educator. to get started, you must first decide what subject you want to teach: science, social studies, math, or english language arts. then, you'll learn critical skills, competencies, and instructional strategies from our nationally-renowned faculty. we'll also give you hands-on experience through internships and practicums. finally, if you're a future math or science teacher, you may want to enroll in uabteach, our four-year program that lets you earn a stem degree while also qualifying for certification as a classroom teacher
