Business Management and Spanish

Our bsc (hons) business management and spanish course will develop your language and intercultural communication skills and your understanding of core business principles, so you have the linguistic competence and business confidence to excel in the professional and academic world.

ELP programs are offered by universities or pathway institutions to assist students in achieving the language proficiency required for academic studies. You can get admitted to your course with a lower language requirement if you do an ELP program.

We believe that academic knowledge should be coupled with strong professional training experience, so that you graduate with a wider range of skills. the professional training placement programme is one of the reasons for our very high employment rates in the school of literature and languages. professional training is compulsory on this course, be it in the form of a work placement or a period studying abroad.in your third year, you’ll have the opportunity to practise and develop your linguistic, intercultural and transferable skills while working and/or studying abroad. our placement team will help you organise a placement that fits your needs. where you go, and how many placements you do, depends on your course. whether you do a study or work placement depends on your interests and skills. the majority of our students spend their third year working abroad, gaining valuable international work experience. our students make excellent candidates for placements in areas such as marketing, international relations, sales, pr, translation and even finance. we have a wide range of links with internationally renowned companies such as: edf ernst and young (ey) volkswagen hilton hotels. if you opt to work for all or part of your year abroad (rather than study), you'll receive at least one visit from your placement tutors. the purpose of this unique approach to work placements is to support you in your transition to a new language, country and work environment. your visiting tutors will also assess your performance at work, mediate between you and your placement organisation, and help prepare you for your final year back at university. at the end of your professional training placement, our goal is for you to be able to reflect upon and articulate your experience so that you can discuss it in a future job interview upon graduation.

Work while you study

You can also work on a UK student visa, from 10 to 20 hours per week during the academic year, 40 hours per week or full-time during vacations.
