International Relations and Anthropology

Join the school of global studies, a unique hub of interdisciplinary research. the department of anthropology and the department of international relations come together to offer a comprehensive training in the conditions that determine social change in our world today. gain a deep understanding of the major challenges facing our world today and learn how they can be addressed. you’ll be taught by experts whose research is making a difference to communities across the world – from human rights to gender inequality to climate change and financial instability.

ELP programs are offered by universities or pathway institutions to assist students in achieving the language proficiency required for academic studies. You can get admitted to your course with a lower language requirement if you do an ELP program.

To help you gain experience and increase your employability, you can apply for an optiol placement as part of your course. you’ll be responsible for applying for and securing your placement. our dedicated careers team can provide you with information and advice. if you’re successful in obtaining a placement, this will form part of your course.it can help you: get ahead of the competition. employers are increasingly looking for relevant work experience for graduate jobs and schemes explore career options before you graduate. you'll get an idea of the type of job or sector you might want to go into gain industry and employability skills. learn how to use software and equipment, or work on live projects. you'll also gain skills in team-working, communication and time magement develop your professiol networks. you'll build a network of contacts for the future .you can apply to take a paid professiol placement in the third year of your degree

Your international relations and anthropology degree develops your communication, analytical and cultural awareness skills. you could go into graduate jobs at multinational companies, national and international organisations, and employers such as: the civil service and government non-governmental organisations (ngos) charities and voluntary organisations. you also benefit from our specialised career events. at these events, you can meet employers and find out more about uk and international graduate jobs. recent events have included advice sessions on the civil service fast stream graduate programme and ngo opportunities.

Work while you study

You can also work on a UK student visa, from 10 to 20 hours per week during the academic year, 40 hours per week or full-time during vacations.
