Computer Network Security

Security is a vital aspect of any networked system, especially as the dependency on network infrastructures has grown over the past few decades. this course builds on more than ten years of experience in education in network design and support, and its aim is to produce network engineers with a strong background in security.

This course gives you the opportunity to take part in a year in industry (work placement) after completing the second year of your study. this will help you gain work experience and increase your employability after you graduate.

This course will prepare you for roles such as: computer network engineers – responsible for any component of a computer network, including local and wide area networks, as well as servers, routers, switches and computers network designers – responsible for the design, operation, installation and maintenance of current and future state-of-the-art computer networks with associated security concerns network security engineers – responsible for dealing with security issues, such as viruses or hardware malfunctions, testing systems for vulnerabilities in hardware and software, maintaining virtual private networks, firewalls, email security and web protocols, and security and programs

Work while you study

You can also work on a UK student visa, from 10 to 20 hours per week during the academic year, 40 hours per week or full-time during vacations.
